Derrick’s Arraignment

by Kate on April 2, 2012

Earlier this morning, April 2, 2012, Derrick J. Freeman was arraigned at the Keene District Court on three charges stemming from this incident that occurred Friday March 30, 2012. Derrick is being charged with Disobeying an Officer, Resisting Arrest or Detention, and Contempt of court. Derrick mentioned that on Friday Sergeant Tenney, Fintan Moore, and Chris McLaughlin all suggested he be released on PR. The bail commissioner proceeded to set bail at $2,000 cash. This morning, Judge Burke set bail at $5,000 cash. A prosecutor for the “City of Keene,” Chris McLaughlin, noted that he submitted a motion to revoke Derrick’s bail from a previous incident where Derrick was victimized by men with badges on Friday morning before the interaction between Derrick and KPD Officer Fintan Moore. There will be a hearing to determine whether this motion will be granted. Trial was set for May 21, 2012, and unless the $5,000 ransom is paid, Derrick will await trial at the Cheshire County House of Corrections.
